A Bigfoot Film and TV Universe Is Revving Up From Pure Imagination Studios and Prime Universe Films
The legendary monster truck Bigfoot is about to crush its way onto the big and small screens. Pure Imagination Studios and Prime Universe Films have locked down the exclusive rights to the iconic brand, and they’re building out a full film and television universe that will introduce Bigfoot to a whole new generation.
This rollout won’t just stop with a movie or a show. Plans include a live-action feature, animated series, video games, and a wave of consumer products like toys, collectibles, and apparel.
The goal is to take Bigfoot, which is considered the world’s very first monster truck beyond the arena and into mainstream entertainment.
Created over 50 years ago by monster truck pioneer Bob Chandler, Bigfoot grew from a garage-built project into a cultural juggernaut. Over the decades it has become a symbol of power and American innovation, racking up more than 50 world championships, breaking countless records, and thrilling millions at live shows across the globe.
The live-action feature will dive into Chandler’s true story and the origins of the monster truck phenomenon, blending ’80s Americana, underdog grit, and high-octane action.
It’s being envisioned as a family-friendly adventure that’s just as bold and larger-than-life as the truck itself. On the animation side, Pure Imagination is developing a 3D series for kids ages 5–9.
The show, set at Chandler Ranch, will follow Bigfoot and friends through racing adventures and life lessons designed to spark imagination and fun.
Joshua Wexler, founder of Pure Imagination Studios, shared his excitement: “BIGFOOT is more than a monster truck—it’s a symbol of determination, invention, and fun. We’re proud to partner with the Chandlers to launch a new era that roars across screens, consoles, and store shelves.”
Adrian Askarieh, founder of Prime Universe Films, added: “This is a lifelong dream project. Our goal is to honor Bob Chandler’s groundbreaking legacy and bring BIGFOOT to a whole new global audience.”
Chandler reflected on how far his creation has come: “When I built the first BIGFOOT truck in my garage 50 years ago, I had no idea it would turn into something this big—literally and figuratively. Seeing what Pure Imagination has planned is both humbling and thrilling.
“It’s incredible to think that BIGFOOT will keep inspiring kids, families, and fans everywhere with the same sense of fun and wonder that started it all.”
Pure Imagination Studios has been steadily building a reputation for imaginative storytelling across different mediums, with projects ranging from LEGO Dreamzzz and Disney Princess: Castle Quest to immersive VR experiences like Alien Descent and Army of the Dead: Viva Las Vengeance.
Meanwhile, Prime Universe has worked on the Hitman films and is developing adaptations like Jonny Quest, Battle Chasers, and The Last Bear.
With their combined experience and Chandler’s legacy, Bigfoot is gearing up for a massive comeback. It’s not just a brand revival—it’s the birth of a monster truck cinematic universe.
