Fun Behind the Scenes Secret Revealed by Captain America's Stunt Double From AVENGERS: ENDGAME

Avengers: Endgame was a movie that was full of awesome scenes and memorable sequences that got fans super pumped and made the movie exciting and great. Aside from the incredible final battle, there was also the time travel, the heartbreaking battle between Black Widow and Hawkeye, Hulk’s snap, and the epic fight scene between Steve Rogers/Captain America, and, well, himself.

When the heroes traveled back in time to retrieve the Infinity stones from the past, Cap ran into his greatest opponent, himself. He went toe to toe, and fought in the most evenly matched battle he had ever been in, but eventually came out ahead, as he had information that threw his old self for a loop. That fight scene was so intricate, I’m sure it was a beast to shoot. But there is one very cool behind the scenes tidbit we didn’t know about the scene before that was revealed by stuntman Sam Hargrave, who returned to help shoot the scene, after having been Chris Evans’s Steve Rogers stunt double in Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

In a recent interview promoting his Netflix movie Extraction Sam Hargrave, who co-coordinated the scenes in Endgame, said he was happy to reprise his stunt double role for Evans, not just because of his love for the character or movies, but because of the guy playing the other Steve Rogers, who happened to be his brother, stuntman Daniel Hargrave.

He explained:

"That's why I got back in the suit, so that I could say that. Marvel's great at this, but there's a lot of digital face replacement and there's a lot of epic moments where that is the brothers Hargrave duking it out on screen in Avengers: Endgame. And that's the reason I did it, because that stuff lives forever. You get to tell your kids, your grandkids, that that was me and my brother doubling and fighting in that movie."

That’s so awesome! And definitely an opportunity no one could pass up. It’s such a unique situation. I’m glad they got the chance to work on the film together and help create such an amazing scene that will live on forever.
