A CREED III Anime Short Film to Be Included With The Japanese Release of the Film

It’s no secret that Michael B. Jordan was heavily inspired by anime when he developed and directed Creed III. After watching the movie, it was easy to see that influence, especially in the fight sequences. When talking about directing those fight scenes, Jordon said:

“There’s been eight other movies before me, and we’ve shot — you can shoot a boxing match so many different ways. I think ‘cause I was kinda put in a corner, it forced me to be more creative and really think outside the box of how to make the fights different … and I had a huge Japanese anime influence on a lot of my fighters.”

Well, with the Japanese release of the film coming up later this month, Jordan shared that a Creed III anime short film was made to release with the movie. He shared a stylized graphic of his character Adonis Creed in on Instagram and it came with the following note:

"Hi Japan. We made a special anime as a surprise for Japanese fans that will play at the end of the film. Creed 3 opens in theaters in Japan next weekend - get your tickets now to see what it's all about!"

That’s pretty cool! I’m sure that we’ll eventually get to see that anime short. Jordan is also developing a full-on Creed anime series for Amazon Prime as well. So, this short must be kind of an experiment for what that could look like. Jordon is looking to build a whole Creed universe, which will include multiple films and shows. The anime series is just a small part of that.
