A Day in the Life of Mars Imagines THE MARTIAN Killing Time on the Red Planet
You are probably very aware that The Martian opens tomorrow, but just in case you aren’t, Fandango would like to remind you. They’ve given 100% Soft, otherwise known as Truck Torrence, control of their Instagram today, and he has filled it with Day in the Life on Mars, a series of animated gifs imagining how astronaut Mark Watney filled his days alone on the Red Planet. I mean, we know he’s sciencing the shit out things, but everyone needs their downtime.
The animations are in his signature style — whimsical, funny, and eminently huggable. Or I mean, they would be huggable if they were real things, and not two-dimensional images projected on a screen, but you get the idea. There are five in all. Geeks will probably enjoy Watney’s kegger with Predator, but my favorite is the world’s easiest ping pong victory. The ball rolling away has just the right touch of tragicomedy for my tastes.
