A Familiar Droid From STAR WARS JEDI: FALLEN ORDER Appeared in THE BOOK OF BOBA FETT Chapter 5
Fans have seemed to perk up a bit since the release of this week’s episode of The Book of Boba Fett. For those still hanging in there, this week seemed to have enough of what we were looking for all along. One fun Easter Egg included in Chapter 5 was the appearance of a familiar droid from Jedi: Fallen Order that fans may have spied.
/Film describes the scene in the episode and the reason why this may be the same droid, saying, “Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) returns to Mos Eisley and reunites with mechanic Peli Motto (Amy Sedaris). Motto's dealing with a rogue womp rat in her hangar, and the nasty little beast attacks one of her droids, a BD unit. Thankfully, Djarin shows up and shoots the womp rat before it can destroy the droid or chomp on Motto, but it does wound the BD unit's leg. Fans are wondering if the little guy is actually BD-1, the droid companion that helps players through ‘Jedi: Fallen Order.’ BD-1 even starts the game with an injured foot, much like Motto's BD droid.”
The report adds that The Book of Boba Fett is set approximately 23 or 24 years after the events of Jedi: Fallen Order, so it's possible that BD-1 ended up on Tatooine. Motto does seem to collect wayward droids. He's got a different paint job, but that could just be the result of years in the desert wearing off the white and orange from his earlier years.
But the lingering question this observation begs is if that is in fact BD-1, is where is Cal? The Jedi and the little robot are a package deal. Hopefully, we will see more of the droid as the season moves forward, and we will get to know his story for sure.
