A Family Befriends a Singing Crocodile in New Trailer for LYLE, LYLE, CROCODILE

Sony Pictures has released a new trailer for its upcoming New York city-set musical film about a singing crocodile titled Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile. The movie is based on the book series by Bernard Waber, and it looks like a movie that the kids will enjoy.

In the film, “When the Primm family moves to New York City, their young son Josh struggles to adapt to his new school & new friends. All of that changes when he discovers Lyle - a singing crocodile who loves baths, caviar and great music-living in the attic of his new home. The two become fast friends, but when Lyle’s existence is threatened by evil neighbor Mr. Grumps, the Primm’s must band together with Lyle’s charismatic owner, Hector P. Valenti, to show the world that family can come from the most unexpected places and there’s nothing wrong with a big singing crocodile with an even bigger personality.”

The movie stars Shawn Mendes as Lyle, singing songs written by the team behind The Greatest Showman. He’s joined by Javier Bardem, Constance Wu, Winslow Fegley, Scoot McNairy, Brett Gelman, and Rudie Bolton.

Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile is co-directed by filmmakers Will Speck and Josh Gordon (Blades of Glory, The Switch, and Office Christmas Party). The music was written by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (The Greatest Showman), with Ari Afsar, Emily Gardner Xu Hall, Mark Sonnenblick, and Joriah Kwamé.

Sony Pictures will release Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile in theaters on October 7th, 2022.
