A Fan Theory Involving Loki Becomes Canon Thanks to Updated Bio on Marvel's Website

Apparently, there’s a fan theory from 2012 that Loki wasn’t himself in The Avengers. The theory posits that the Mind Stone in Loki’s scepter was greatly influencing him. Now it appears that the theory is canon. According to Marvel’s official website, the scepter did.

Arriving at the Sanctuary through a wormhole caused by the Bifrost, Loki met the Other, ruler of the ancient race of extraterrestrials the Chitauri, and Thanos. Offering the God of Mischief dominion over his brother’s favorite realm Earth, Thanos requested the Tesseract in return. Gifted with a Scepter that acted as a mind control device, Loki would be able to influence others. Unbeknownst to him, the Scepter was also influencing him, fueling his hatred over his brother Thor and the inhabitants of Earth.

The question is, will this play a role in a future project? Will this somehow play into the Loki series on Disney+? Maybe this will be an important aspect of Endgame. Had you already figured out that Loki wasn’t quite himself during The Avengers?
