A Full-Size Gundam is Set to Walk in Japan in October

Apparently I missed it, but back in 2015, there were plans announced to have a Gundam walk by 2019. Well, it looks like they missed the mark by about a year, but now a walking Gundam is set to be unveiled later this year. According to Forbes, the Gundam will have a support mechanism attached at the waist to prevent falling and it will be remote controlled instead of piloted. It’s still very impressive to think that we will have an 18-meter-tall Gundam walking around in Japan later this year. It’s a dream come true!

It shouldn’t be a surprise that the Gundam is designed to be a stylized RX-78-2, the original Gundam. The current plan is to have the Gundam walk in Yokohama on October 1, the same day that Gundam Factory Yokohama is opening. Are you excited for a walking Gundam? Which model would you have chosen?
