Paramount+ has debuted a fun teaser trailer for its all-new animated kids’ series Star Trek: Prodigy. The series actually looks much better than I was expecting. They keep promoting this as a kid’s show, but it looks like it’s something that older fans of the Star Trek franchise might enjoy as well.

The teaser trailer was introduced by executive producers Kevin and Dan Hageman during the series’ Comic-Con@Home virtual panel. The voice cast members include Kate Mulgrew as Hologram Janeway, Brett Gray as Dal, Ella Purnell as Gwyn, Angus Imrie as Zero, Rylee Alazraqui as Rok-Tahk, Dee Bradley Baker as Murf and Jason Mantzoukas as Jankom Pog.

The series follows “a motley crew of young aliens who must figure out how to work together while navigating a greater galaxy, in search for a better future. These six young outcasts know nothing about the ship they have commandeered – a first in the history of the Star Trek franchise – but over the course of their adventures together, they will each be introduced to Starfleet and the ideals it represents.”

The show is produced by the Nickelodeon Animation Studio and CBS Studios’ Eye Animation Productions, it’s set to premiere on Paramount+ in the U.S. this Fall. Watch the trailer below and let us know if you like what you see.
