A Japanese Film Critic Praises The Live-Action BLEACH Film

We are roughly two and a half months away from the release of the live-action adaptation of Bleach. Live-action adaptations are typically not well received, so many fans like myself are cautiously optimistic. It appears we may have more hope shine on the project as a Japanese critic, Fujimoto Yousuke, claims to have seen a preview of the film, and he had high praises for it in a tweet he sent out.

The text roughly translates to:

Come to think of it, “BLEACH” I saw the preview was the best. Director Shinsuke Sato + Yuji Shimomura What the action director has accumulated has come to fruition. The “usage” of CG and the action is very skill movie. It is one of the best in the live action of the last ten years. How to put together from the original, costume without a sense of cosplay is wonderful. I was really impressed.

It’s sounding really good. Could it be that this breaks the curse of horrible adaptations of anime? Is this the turning point? I certainly hope so.

The movie will follow the events of the Substitute Shinigami Arc from the anime and Manga. Bleach will be released in Japan on July 20, 2018, with no current announcements about a western release.
