A Key JURASSIC PARK Character Will Return for JURASSIC WORLD: DOMINION and Campbell Scott Will Play Him
Actor Campbell Scott, known for his roles in Singles, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Royal Pains, and House of Cards, is joining the cast of the upcoming Jurassic World sequel, Jurassic World: Dominion, as a character from the original Jurassic Park movie. In the 1993 film, the character Dodgson was played by asshole Cameron Thor, who is currently in prison for sexual assault of a minor.
Scott will be taking on the role of Dodgson, who, if you don’t remember, was the guy that met with Nedry (Wayne Knight aka Newman from Seinfeld) and gave him the fake can of Barbasol shaving cream to store the stolen dinosaur embryos. When Nedry dies in the movie, the Barbasol can is left in the mud. So maybe that comes back into play in the next film?
In Michael Crichton‘s original Jurassic novel, Dr. Lewis Dodgson was the head of product development at genetics company BioSyn, a rival of InGen. Dodgson also played a large part in Crichton’s sequel, The Lost World, though the character did not appear in Steven Spielberg’s 1997 sequel.
Collider reports that in the upcoming Jurassic World: Dominion, “Dodgson has been promoted to CEO of Biosyn Genetics, but only time will tell whether the character proves to be the threequel’s big villain. Either way, Dodgson’s reemergence may serve as the catalyst for the return of the franchise’s three original heroes, Dr. Alan Grant (Sam Neill), Dr. Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern), and Dr. Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum), all of whom will have sizable roles in Dominion.”
This is pretty fun news. Scott is a great actor, and with the return of the other original cast members, this is shaping up to be a totally epic Jurassic movie!
