A Major Character is Going To be Killed Off in MODERN FAMILY; Who Could It Be?

The ABC series Modern Family has been delivering solidly funny comedy for the past nine seasons. I enjoy watching this show and now there’s word that a major character is about to meet their demise.

Co-creator Christopher Lloyd revealed to Entertainment Weekly that a “significant” character will die in the upcoming 10th Season of the family comedy. He explained:

“We’re handling some bigger life events in this season. We do deal with a death, which is certainly a topic that families have to deal with, and on television, it’s not easy to do because that’s a heavy subject. But at the same time, it would seem unusual for a family not to go through it.”

He obviously wouldn’t reveal who they would be killing off, but he did say that the death would impact several episodes. This next season also brings an end to the show’s multi-season contract, so there’s a chance that the series could come to an end with season ten. We’ll just have to wait and see. Lloyd seems to be optimistic, saying:

“There’s goodwill on both sides to make it happen, but there’s also complicated matters that have to get worked through, and there’s a time constraint on it, because we can’t have it take too long. I’m hoping that that doesn’t make the whole thing go away, but I think there’s a decent chance we’ll see it happen.”

The question is, who do you think will die? My money is on Ed O’Neill’s character Jay since he’s the oldest, but it really could be anyone. Regardless, it’s sad to hear that a main character will die. They’re all such great characters.

Modern Family Season 10 is set to premiere September 26th on ABC.
