A Medieval-Fortification Expert Rates Castle and Fortress Battle Scenes From Movies and TV

Insider released an interesting video that features medieval-fortification expert Michael Fulton as he looks at some castles and fortress defense scenes from several films and TV shows and he rates them based on realism.

The films he looks at include Outlaw King (2018), Vikings (2015), The Great Battle (2018), The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003), Ironclad (2011), Robin Hood (2010), Game of Thrones (2012), and Monty Python and the Holy Grail (1975).

Fulton is an assistant professor of medieval history at Western University in Ontario, Canada. He's published many papers on siege tactics and defenses and is the author of "Artillery in the Era of the Crusades." Fulton is currently working on the books "Crusader Castle: The Desert Fortress of Kerak" and "The Contest for Egypt."

Other than what I see in the movies, I don’t know much about what real castle and fortress warfare was like, so watching this was pretty interesting! Check it out!
