A Menacing Demon Is Unleashed Through a Space Portal in Trailer for THORNS
If you’re looking for a new horror film that delivers a hellish nightmare, maybe this new indie horror movie, Thorns, is right up your alley. The movie has heavy Hellraiser vibes, and it focuses on a menacing demon that’s been unleashed through a portal in space.
The movie comes from director Douglas Schulze (The Dark Below, Hellmaster, Mimesis), and the story follows “an ex-priest working for NASA is sent to investigate a remote observatory that went silent after receiving a mysterious radio signal from deep space. Upon arrival, he discovers the signal has opened a portal unleashing a thorned monster. The former priest must now summon his lost faith to stop the signal from jumpstarting the end of the world.”
The director told Gruesome Magazine, “The film melds themes of religion and science within the framework of a classic ’80s-era monster movie. Thorns is ripe with physical makeup effects and plenty of gore.”
The cast for the film includes horror icon Doug Bradley (Hellraiser), and it’s set to be released sometime in late 2023.
