A Monstrous Version of Mickey Mouse's STEAMBOAT WILLIE Featured in Trailer for the Horror Game INFESTATION 88

Walt Disney’s very first Mickey Mouse project, Steamboat Willie, entered the public domain this year and the upcoming horror video game Infestation 88 reimagined Mickey Mouse as a monstrous villain.

Infestation 88 is a co-op horror game in which you play as an exterminator treating sinister infestations caused by twisted versions of classic characters and urban legends.

Nightmare Forge developed the game and it came with the following description: "In the year 1988, what was thought to be an outbreak of rodents in various locations morphed into something far more sinister."

IGN shares some additional information: “Sometimes you'll need to fight, sometimes you'll need to run, and sometimes you'll need to hide in a locker. You can set traps and utilize CCTV cameras to try and stay one step ahead of the infestation, and item layouts are randomized in order to help keep matches fresh.”

In the game, players will explore unique locations and uncover the story behind how each infestation began. Find the means to access and unlock new areas. Use cameras to keep an eye on activity. Maintain power to enable different systems. Find the source at all costs.

You will utilize a variety of extermination gear to subdue the outbreak. Eradicate all nests and monstrous fiends lurking throughout. Run when you can, hide, help your friends – just don't fall victim to the infestation's spread.

Players will have face off with and eliminate a horrific entity, with each episode containing a distinct classic character or urban legend responsible for the infestation.

The gaming experience will be different every time you play it as it will have randomized item layouts, unpredictable AI, as well as a variety of custom settings to tweak your experience.
