A Mysterious Machine Shakes Up a Small Town in Trailer for Apple TV+'s THE BIG DOOR PRIZE
Apple TV+ has released an interesting teaser trailer for a new series titled The Big Door Prize. The movie is based on M.O. Walsh’s novel of the same name, and it tells the story of a small town that is forever changed when a mysterious machine appears in the general store.
The strange machine is called Morpho Machine, and what makes this machine so special is that it has the power to reveal each person’s true life potential. It gives people hope, it tells them their whole reason for existing on Earth, and it seems like something that’s too good to be true.
This is a fascinating concept to play with, and there are so many different ways to explore how it affects the residents of this small town. When I watched the trailer I was reminded of The Twilight Zone episode “Nick of Time” where William Shatner comes across a fortune-telling machine in a coffee shop that started to influence him and his decisions. But, this is on a much bigger scale.
The series is described as a “heartwarming character driven-comedy,” and it stars Chris O'Dowd, David West Read (Schitt's Creek), Gabrielle Dennis (A Black Lady Sketch Show), Ally Maki (Wrecked), Josh Segarra (The Other Two, She-Hulk: Attorney At Law), Damon Gupton (Super Pumped), Crystal Fox (Big Little Lies), Sammy Fourlas (TikTok person), and Djouliet Amara (Riverdale).
The Big Door Prize is produced by Skydance Television and CJ ENM/Studio Dragon. David West Read serves as showrunner and executive producer.
There’s no release date yet, but it will be coming to Apple TV+ sometime this year.
