A NANCY DREW Series Is Being Developed At The CW

Television is trying once again to create a Nancy Drew series, and this time it's The CW taking a shot at the popular character. The network is developing a project alongside famed producers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, who are known for Marvel's Runaways, Gossip Girl, and The O.C..

Past incarnations of this television adaptation have featured the character being aged up to her 30s, although it's being said by Deadline this one will put the character back to around 18 years old. It makes sense, considering Schwartz and Savage have found great success in creating teenage dramas, and people tend to respond well to stuff that's closer to the original.

The script is being written by The Magicians Noga Landau and will find Nancy kept from leaving town for college in order to investigate a murder with far deeper secrets than she could've ever imagined.

We'll see if this one makes it any further than the development stage. Would you be excited for a Nancy Drew series?
