A New BIGFOOT Horror Movie is Being Produced By STX Entertainment

STX Entertainment and Citizen Skull Productions are producing a new creature feature horror movie, Bigfoot.

In this latest Bigfoot story, “a beast terrorizes a modern housing development in a small mountain town. The attacks lead to the town’s new sheriff fighting for her daughter’s life.”

The movie is being directed by John Asher (Diamonds) and first-time screenwriter Jordan Reid. It’s scheduled to shoot this fall in the remote Crystal Mountains of Washington State.

Asher said in a statement: “Ever since the release of Jaws, moviegoers have been terrified of the water. Once they see Bigfoot, they’ll never go into the forest again.”

That’s a big claim, but I doubt he will be able to pull it off. There’s nothing really scary about Bigfoot and it’s hard to believe that he will make Bigfoot scary.

Project producer Mark Myers, President of Citizen Skull Productions, added: “When I read the script, I was absolutely blown away. This movie is incredibly terrifying. It’s going to keep audiences on the edge of their seats.”

Yeah, we’ll see. They are hyping it up way too much for me to believe. There are very very few Bigfoot movies that have been made that are worth your time to watch, and I’m not convinced that this will be any better.

On an interesting side note, Asher’s grandfather is E.M. Asher, and he was an associate producer on Universal Pictures’ iconic monster movies Dracula (1931) and Frankenstein (1931).
