A New Live-Action TRANSFORMERS Movie Gets a 2022 Release Date
Paramount Pictures has announced that their next live-action Transformers film will be released on June 24th, 2022. We don’t know what Transformers project this will be as there are two currently in development.
One of the films is being written by Independence Day: Resurgence and The Amazing Spider-Man scribe, James Vanderbilt. The other one is being written by John Wick Chapter 3 executive producer and Army of the Dead scribe Joby Harold.
Vanderbilt’s Transformers project is based on the spinoff Beast Wars which centers around robots that transform into robotic animals like Cheetor (Cheetah), Optimus Primal (Gorilla), Rhinox (Rhinoceros) and more.
Harold’sproject is set in the Bumblebee universe. We knew that we’d eventually see a followup to that film and this one will most likely see Bumblebee and Optimus Prime team up for an adventure.
I’m curious to see both of these movies turn out. I really enjoyed Bumblebee and I really hope the sequel have the same level of storytelling quality as the first one.
The studio also announced that Aaron Sorkin's The Trial of the Chicago 7 will have a limited release on September 25, 2020 before going wide on October 16th. That film follows the 1969 trial of seven people charged with conspiracy by the federal government and stars Eddie Redmayne, Sacha Baron Cohen, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Frank Langella.
