A New POKEMON Anime is Coming Without Ash and Pikachu

Ash Ketchum finally became a Champion and now The Pokémon Company is forcing him to retire at the ripe old age of 10 (although he has been 10 for 25 years…). It was announced by The Pokémon Company that Ash and Pikachu’s story will conclude with a collection of special episodes in the coming months. The final 11 episodes of Pokémon Ultimate Journeys: The Series will begin to air in Japan on January 13 and feature fan-favorite characters like Misty and Brock as well as a glimpse of what Ash’s future has in store for him.

This doesn’t mean that the Pokémon anime is ending though. Are you kidding? That is a money machine! The new series doesn’t seem to have a name yet, but it will take place in Paldea and feature the starters from Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet: Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly. The new anime will also feature dual protagonists named Liko and Roy (in the Japanese version at least) and will premiere worldwide in 2023. Are you excited to follow these new trainers on their adventures?
