A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET Deleted Scene Sheds Some Horrific New Darkness on Freddy

There’s a deleted scene from Wes Craven’s A Nightmare On Elm Street that has been making the rounds on the internet this week. Most scenes that end up on the cutting room floor are cut because they don’t really add anything to the story the film is trying to tell. But this deleted scene from the classic slasher film is kind of a big deal because it reveals new information regarding Freddy Krueger that makes things personal for the parents who ended up taking matters into their own hands and murdering him.

In the deleted scene, we learn that Freddy killed the younger siblings of Nancy, Glen, Rod, and Tina. These are siblings that these characters never knew that they had. It was because these kids were murdered that the parents banded together to put an end to Freddy. It makes their decision to do that a bit more morally justifiable.

I have no idea why this scene was deleted because it adds so much more weight to the story. The scene was only previously available on Laserdisc and VHS copies of the film, but thanks to the internet, you can watch it below!
