A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET Star Robert Englund is Hosting a New Travel Channel Show Called SHADOWS OF HISTORY
The Travel Channel sure does love their shows that focus on creepy destinations and unexplained phenomena. They have another one coming called Shadows of History and it will be hosted by Robert Englund, who is best known for playing Freddy Kruger in the A Nightmare on Elm Street horror franchise.
In the series, Englund will investigate "frightening, odd and creepy stories from America's past, as initially printed in newspapers.” In each episode, Englund “will track down the story behind a bizarre or mysterious account printed in an American newspaper in the past. He will enlist historians and scholars to get to the truth behind the reports.”
That actually sounds like a pretty interesting series! The kind of series that I will find myself getting hooked on. I love this kind of stuff!
Travel Channel GM Jane Latman had this to say in a statement:
"How can you make fascinating and petrifying stories even more scary? Add the genius of Robert Englund. As if tales of flying monsters, zombie cannibals and ghost ships were not enough, we are cranking up the volume for maximum impact. And our fans are going to go nuts for this legendary actor."
