A Pill Unlocks Superpowers in Trailer for PROJECT POWER with Jamie Foxx and Joseph Gordon-Levitt
Netflix has released the trailer for an interesting-looking new action-thriller titled Project Power. The movie comes from directors Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman (Paranormal Activity 3 & 4, Nerve), and the story centers around a pill that is developed that unlocks five minutes of unpredictable superpowers to whoever takes it.
The movie stars Jamie Foxx and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and they are joined by Dominique Fishback, Rodrigo Santoro, Colson Baker, Allen Maldonado, Amy Landecker, and Courtney B. Vance. This looks like a cool movie, and I really like the visual style of it. On top of that, there’s the fun little twist on the superhero genre, with the concept of only being given five-minutes of a surprise power. I’ll definitely be watching this one!
Here’s the synopsis:
On the streets of New Orleans, word begins to spread about a mysterious pill that unlocks superpowers unique to each user. The catch: You don’t know what will happen until you take it. While some develop bulletproof skin, invisibility, and super strength, others exhibit a deadlier reaction. When the pill escalates crime within the city to dangerous levels, a local cop (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) teams with a teenage dealer (Dominique Fishback) and a former soldier fueled by a secret vendetta (Jamie Foxx) to fight power with power and risk taking the pill in order to track down & stop the group responsible for creating it.
Project Power will be streaming on Netflix on August 14th.
