A Plot Summary For Lucasfilm's OBI-WAN: A STAR WARS STORY Has Leaked
There's been a lot of talk recently regarding the Obi-Wan Kenobi movie that Lucasfilm has been developing. The last thing we heard was that the movie was in pre-production and that it will start shooting in 2019.
TMZ recently got their hands on a production bulletin that included a plot summary for the movie, which will be called Obi-Wan: A Star Wars Story. It will have a working title of "Joshua Tree". I know you're all curious about what the plot of the film will entail, so this is what the report offers us:
Obi-Wan is on Tatooine being an elusive hermit and stuff, but secretly watches over an infant Luke Skywalker, whom he delivered to his uncle, Owen. Tensions between the local farmers and a tribe of Sand People -- headed by a ruthless war chief -- eventually brings Obi outta hiding ... and into Jedi kickass mode. Scene.
I think we all knew that the movie would be set on Tatooine with Kenobi watching over Luke, but now we know what the story might revolve around. Kenobi is going to help a bunch of local farmers fight off the Sand People, which, I guess, is the most exciting thing that could happen on Tatooine!
The bulletin also lists Stephen Daldry as the director. He's been rumored to be in talks for the film, but now it looks like he's officially attached. The film will begin shooting in London next spring.
What do you all think about the direction that this movie is headed?
