A Princess Goes on a Quest to Save Her Parents in Trailer For the Netflix Animated Film SPELLBOUND
A trailer has been released for the Netflix Original animated movie, Spellbound, featuring the great voice cast of Rachel Zegler, John Lithgow, Jenifer Lewis, Nathan Lane, Tituss Burgess, Javier Bardem and Nicole Kidman.
The film features songs written by musical legend Alan Menken (Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid) and Glenn Slater (Tangled).
Spellbound is directed by story artist/filmmaker Vicky Jenson, co-director of Shrek and Shark Tale, from a screenplay written by Lauren Hynek, Elizabeth Martin and Julia Miranda.
“Spellbound follows the adventures of Ellian, the tenacious young daughter of the rulers of Lumbria who must go on a daring quest to save her family and kingdom after a mysterious spell transforms her parents into monsters.”
This reminds me a lot of one of my favorite Disney films, Brave, in which Merida has to find the way to return her mother back to her original state after she is transformed into a bear.
The film looks like it could be a fun new take on the idea. Check out the trailer below, and watch Spellbound on Netflix on November 22nd.
