A QUIET PLACE III Is Taking Shape and There’s More to Come

If you’ve been wondering what’s going on with A Quiet Place Part III, you’ll be happy to learn that it’s still happening. It’s just taking its sweet, silent time coming together.

The long-awaited sequel has been in development limbo for a while, largely due to John Krasinski’s packed schedule, but according to producer Brad Fuller, things are finally starting to move forward. He offered an update saying:

“We're starting to put it together right now. You know, when we made the first one, John [Krasinski] didn't have a lot on his plate. He had just come off The Office, and he wanted to be a director.

“Now, he's so in demand, and it's hard to get him. He's making a movie now, so as soon as he finishes that, hopefully, he will turn his attention to [A Quiet Place 3].”

Since A Quiet Place hit theaters in 2018, Krasinski’s career has skyrocketed, and now he’s making aJack Ryan movie, so it's no surprise that his availability has been a major factor in the delay.

That said, the Quiet Place universe has kept going in his absence. 2024’s prequel A Quiet Place: Day One, starring Lupita Nyong’o, expanded the franchise, but Fuller makes it clear that wasn’t meant to serve as any kind of trilogy capper. In fact, the producer suggests there’s plenty more to come beyond the thrid film.

He added: “We all want to finish that trilogy, and I'm hopeful there's even more Quiet Place movies beyond that.”

As for who’s returning? Expect Emily Blunt to reprise her role as Evelyn Abbott, continuing to navigate a world where silence is survival. The rest of the details remain under wraps, but with movement finally happening, it's only a matter of time before we get more updates.

Jeff Nichols, writer and director of the films Mud, Midnight Special, and Loving, has signed on to write and direct a third film in the A Quiet Place universe, based on an original idea by John Krasinski, who wrote and directed the first two films.
