A Rumored JOHN LENNON Biopic Is Reportedly in the Works With Craig Gillespie Attached to Direct
A John Lennon biopic is rumored to be in development, with Craig Gillespie (Lars and the Real Girl, I, Tonya, Cruella) attached as the film’s director. Source World of Reel says that a new casting call has gone out for “a caucasian actor in his early to mid-30s with the ability to sing, have moderate experience in playing the guitar, and be fine with nudity.”
The source says, “The film would focus on the immediate period after the Beatles breakup, tackling Lennon’s solo career and his relationship with Yoko Ono,” and Ono is rumored to be a consultant and a producer on the project.
There have been other films that we’ve seen take on Lennon, but it would be cool to see a full biopic about the musician and activist’s life, especially in the years between leaving The Beatles and leading up to his death. He is so beloved still today, this would surely be a film that people would want to see. We will keep you posted as the project develops.
