A Sequel to DUNGEONS & DRAGONS: HONOR AMONG THIEVES Could Happen... With a Lower Budget

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves was a pretty great fantasy adventure movie! I enjoyed the hell out of it! The movie told a solid story with great character development, and it was just incredibly entertaining. I was hoping we’d see a sequel, but if it happens, it’s going to have a lower budget.

During a recent interview with Variety, Paramount Pictures CEO Brian Robbins was asked about a possible sequel and he responded with, "We've got to figure out a way to make it for less.”

The first movie had a budget of $150 million and it made a little over $208 million at the box office. So, I can see why they would want to work on the budget. It wasn’t the huge runaway hit they thought it would be. At least Collins isn’t completely ruling out a sequel.

The question is, will a sequel actually ever happen? As of right now, as far as I know, there’s no sequel currently in development. But, there is a live-action Dungeons & Dragons series in development with Red Notice director Rawson Marshall Thurber leading the charge.

I know Paramount Pictures was looking to build a huge D&D franchise because there’s so much potential, so many different stories tell that are set in the world of D&D. Only time will tell if the studio will actually tell more of these stories on the big screen.

It wouldn’t be too hard to scale things down for a sequel. You really don’t need to make a huge epic film. You easily tell a great story with a minimal setting. That’s what makes D&D so fun! It allows people to get very creative in the strangest of situations. The point is, you don’t need to make a movie in an epic scope to tell a great D&D story.
