A Serial Killer Terrorizes London in New Trailer for Idris Elba's LUTHER: THE FALLEN SUN
Netflix has released a new trailer for Idris Elba’s upcoming film Luther: The Fallen Sun. If you were a fan of the British crime series, this is definitely a movie you won’t want to miss! In the film, brilliant but disgraced London police detective John Luther breaks out of prison to hunt down a sadistic serial killer.
Luther: The Fallen Sun looks like it’s going to be a captivating and intense story that it going to keep audiences on the edge of their seats. The movie is described as “an epic continuation of the award-winning television saga re-imagined for film.” It looks, and I dig the vibe of it! It almost feels like a Batman meets James Bond type of movie.
The story centers on “a gruesome serial killer is terrorizing London while brilliant but disgraced detective John Luther sits behind bars. Haunted by his failure to capture the cyber psychopath who now taunts him, Luther decides to break out of prison to finish the job by any means necessary.”
Elba is joined in the film by Cynthia Erivo, Andy Serkis, and Dermot Crowley, who returns as Martin Schenk. The supporting cast also includes Thomas Coombes, Hattie Morahan, Lauryn Ajufo, and Vincent Regan.
Luther: The Fallen Sun is directed by TV writer and director Jamie Payne from a screenplay written by Neil Cross. Netflix will release the movie in theaters first on February 24th, 2023, then on Netflix starting March 10th.
