A Side-By-Side, Shot-For-Shot Comparison Between all Three Versions of NOSFERATU
A Nosferatu fan has edited together all three versions of the movie in a really cool and interesting compilation.
He plays scenes from Nosferatu: Symphony of Terror (1922), Nosferatu the Vampyr (1979), and Nosferatu (2024) side-by-side to compare how each filmmaker tackles different scenes.
The description reads: “A side-by-side, shot-for-shot comparison between the the two film adaptations of Dracula by Bram Stoker, Nosferatu: Smphony of Terror (1922), Nosferatu the Vampyr (1979), and Nosferatu (2024).
“This video is intended to show the different choices made by two groups of filmmakers adapting the novel Dracula and the homages made by those remaking the 1922 film.”
Some key moments have been spotlighted in the video, including the opening scenes between Thomas Hutter and Ellen Hutter, Ellen's possession scenes, and the final moments of each film.
One particular parallel that is cool to see is how each filmmaker imagines Hutter's arrival at Count Orlok's castle.
The video was created by Matt Skuta, and you can enjoy it below!
