SPIRIT HALLOWEEN Family Horror Movie in the Works with Christopher Lloyd and Rachel Leigh Cook
The iconic Halloween costume and prop store Spirit Halloween is getting its own movie! They’ve teamed up with Strike Back Studios, Hideout Pictures and Particular Crowd to develop a feature-length family adventure horror film titled Spirt Halloween and it’s already completed shooting.
The movie stars Christopher Llyod (Back To The Future, Nobody) and Rachael Leigh Cook (She’s All That, Josie and The Pussycats). The film also stars Donavan Colan (Zoe), Dylan Frankel (Raven’s Home), Jaiden Smith (Blue Bloods) Marla Gibbs (El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie), and Marissa Reyes (Raven’s Home). This is a great cast for what could be a very fun flick!
In the film, “When a new Spirit Halloween store appears in a deserted strip mall, three middle-school friends who think they’ve outgrown trick-or-treating make a dare to spend the night locked inside the store Halloween night. But they soon find out that the store is haunted by an angry evil spirit who has possessed the creepy animatronic characters. The kids embark on a thrilling and spooky adventure in order to survive the night and avoid becoming possessed themselves.”
So, it’s basically the same concept as Night at the Museum, but it’s set in a Spirit Halloween store, and you know what? I’ll show up to watch it!
Noor Ahmed, president of Strike Back Studios said in a statement “One of the reasons I immediately connected with the script is it is very much inspired by some of my favorite kid adventure films growing up from ‘The Goonies,’ ‘Gremlins,’ ‘Monster Squad’ and so many great films made by Amblin Entertainment.”
The movie will be helmed by David Poag, who is making his directorial feature debut from a script written by Billie Bates. The movie is aiming for a release in October 2022. Below you’ll find a first look photos from the film:
