Sony Pictures has released a full trailer for director Paul WS Anderson’s upcoming action-adventure film Monster Hunter. We’ve already seen a couple of teaser trailers for the film, but this trailer offers us our best look yet at monstrous madness.

The film’s story follows Milla Jovovich as Artemis and a small squad of soldiers who find themselves being transported to another realm that is inhabited by giant creatures and they’ve got to fight them! They team up with a warrior in this realm named Hunter, who is played by Tony Jaa. Together they engage in battle against the monsters to close a portal to prevent the monsters from going through and invading earth.

I’m not expecting Monster Hunter to be a great cinematic masterpiece, but it looks like a fun and enjoyable film that might be worth checking out. Here’s the synopsis:

Behind our world, there is another: a world of dangerous and powerful monsters that rule their domain with deadly ferocity. When an unexpected sandstorm transports Captain Artemis (Milla Jovovich) and her unit (TI Harris, Meagan Good, Diego Boneta) to a new world, the soldiers are shocked to discover that this hostile and unknown environment is home to enormous and terrifying monsters immune to their firepower. In their desperate battle for survival, the unit encounters the mysterious Hunter (Tony Jaa), whose unique skills allow him to stay one step ahead of the powerful creatures. As Artemis and Hunter slowly build trust, she discovers that he is part of a team led by the Admiral (Ron Perlman). Facing a danger so great it could threaten to destroy their world, the brave warriors combine their unique abilities to band together for the ultimate showdown.

The movie also stars Ron Perlman (Hellboy, Drive), T.I. Harris (Ant-Man and The Wasp), Diego Boneta (Luis Miguel, Rock of Ages), Meagan Good (Code Black), and Josh Helman (X-Men: Days of Future Past).

Monster Hunter is set to be released in theaters in December 2020.
