A STAR WARS Actor Plays a Surprising Character in SPIDER-MAN: INTO THE SPIDER-VERSE

Now that there have been screenings for Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse, some new details about the movie have been revealed. One of those new details involves a Star Wars actor taking on the role of a surprising character.

We already know that the film will features lots of cool and interesting Spider-Man characters from multiple universes such as Miles Morales, Peter Parker, Spider-Man Noir, Spider-Gwen, Spider-Man, and Peni Parker. But there will be more characters introduced that we haven’t seen yet.

If you don’t want to know any other information than that, don’t read ahead.

Still here? Ok! The ending of the film introduces the audience to the future setting of Nueva York, which, as you may or may not know, is part of the 2099 universe of Marvel Comics.

It’s at this point that we meet the character Miguel O'Hara, a.k.a. Spider-Man 2099. As for who is voicing the character, they landed Star Wars actor Oscar Isaac!

This is pretty awesome! I’m a fan of Spider-Man 2099, and Isaac is the perfect actor to play the character. This news comes from entertainment reporter Jeff Sneider, but the studio has yet to acknowledge the actor’s role in the film, probably because they aren’t ready to reveal the big spoiler.

I imagine this means that the Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse sequel that was recently announced will heavily involve this character.

What do you all think about Oscar Isaac taking on the role of Spider-Man 2099?
