A USEFUL GHOST Trailer Delivers a Wonderfully Weird Thai Supernatural Vacuum Comedy
Fandor has dropped the official US trailer for A Useful Ghost, and it looks like a delightfully strange movie. This Thai supernatural comedy has been riding a wave of acclaim since its premiere at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival, where it snagged the top Critics Week award and instantly became a favorite among international film fans.
The film marks the feature debut of filmmaker Ratchapoom Boonbunchachoke, and what he’s crafted is a heartfelt and offbeat ghost story with a concept that feels fresh in a genre that often repeats itself.
Nat, a woman who recently died, returns as a ghost that inhabits a vacuum cleaner so she can keep her home dust free and protect her husband from other vengeful spirits. To stay close to her family, she has to become “useful,” which means taking out the ghosts that aren’t.
The cast includes Davika Hoorne, Wisarut Himmarat, Apasiri Nitibhon, Wanlop Rungkumjud, and Wisarut Homhuan, and early reactions from festival audiences make it clear the film hits that sweet spot where comedy, horror, and heartfelt storytelling collide in a really fun way.

The movie blends quirky humor with themes of love, loss, and finding purpose even after death. Cineverse and Fandor will release A Useful Ghost in select US theaters on January 16, 2026.
