A YEAR OF RAIN is a New RTS Game Now in Early Access on Steam
A new RTS is coming to Steam from Daedalic Entertainment. A Year of Rain released today on Steam’s Early Access platform and I’m excited. The game is designed to be easy to learn (but hard to master), incorporate teamwork if you desire, and there’s a story campaign for you to enjoy. Of course, there’s always the ability to skirmish with other players in a 2v2 scenario. The interesting thing there is that there will be an asymmetrical mode where one team will simply be heroes trying to take down the armies of the other team.
There will be three factions available in A Year of Rain and each will have heroes to select from. The game also has metaprogression where you get points for how well you do in the game and then you can get bonus points for mentoring other players. Finally, Daedalic seems to be thinking this will become popular as they’re looking for how to make the game not only great for streaming, but they’re looking forward to eSports as well. Oh, and did I mention that Neal Acree (Overwatch, StarCraft II) composed the score?
A Year of Rain is available now via Steam’s Early Access program. For a limited time, fans can pick up a two-player pack for $29.99.
