A Young Girl Confronts Her Phobia of Death in This Terrifying and Grim Horror Short POST MORTEM MARY
We are in the middle of the Halloween season, a season of wonderful horror, and today I’ve got a great horror short film that you’ve got to watch! The movie is titled Post Mortem Mary and it’s actually pretty terrifying!
It’s been a long time since I’ve watched a horror short that truly gave me the chills, but this movie did just that. It tells the grim and frightening story of a young girl who confronts her phobia of death, and at the same time, she must do all she can to make the dead look alive.
Here’s the synopsis:
A mother and a daughter who suffers from a crippling fear of death run a post-mortem photography business in 1840’s Australia. They arrive to a small farmhouse to find devastated parents grieving over the death of their ten-year-old daughter. The mother and daughter photography team quickly get to work but when the mother is required to comfort the grieving parent, the frightened daughter is forced to work alone for the first time. As the young girl confronts her phobia she must do all she can to make the dead look alive.
As you’ll see, things end up taking a nightmarish turn for the young girl. The movie was written and directed by Joshua Long, and I love the period setting and the fact that the story revolves around post-mortem photography. This is a great horror movie and I hope that it creeps you out!
