Aaron Paul Is Getting Into the Empire Business as Jack Daniel in WGN's BLOOD AND WHISKEY
I don't watch anything on WGN America, but I was channel surfing the other day and landed on that channel and within the span of about thirty seconds, I saw multiple characters having sex on screen and a guy get both of his eyes stabbed out of his head. I won't ruin what show that was in case it would spoil anything, but the point is: WGN America is apparently pretty intense.
And maybe that intensity will carry over to a new show they're developing. THR reports that Breaking Bad alum Aaron Paul has been cast as whiskey impresario Jack Daniel in a new series called Blood and Whiskey.
Based on Peter Krass' biography Blood and Whiskey: The Life and Times of Jack Daniel, the drama tells the harrowing true tale of Jack Daniel, boy distiller, teenage moonshiner and the outlaw who built the world’s biggest whiskey empire out of the ashes of the Civil War.
Paul, who currently stars on Hulu's The Path, will executive produce and star in the series. Andrew Colville (Mad Men, Lone Star) will write the script and exec produce. No studio is attached to the show at the moment, but considering Paul's involvement, I imagine it won't be long before someone decides to jump on board. We'll keep you posted as this one moves through development, but I think it has some promise and could be a nice platform for Paul to show off some more of his skills.
This is going to be a fun one https://t.co/0aiyqNB08m
