Aaron Sorkin Is in Talks to Work with Marvel Studio and DC Entertainment

Aaron Sorkin, the writer behind The West Wing and The Social Network, is meeting with both Marvel Studios and DC Entertainment to possibly work with them in developing one of their upcoming film projects.

The news came from Sorkin himself when he told CB the following:

“I happen to have meetings coming up with both DC and Marvel. I have to go into these meetings and tell them as respectfully as I can that I’ve never read a comic book. It’s not that I don’t like them, it’s just that I’ve never been exposed to one. So, I’m hoping that somewhere in their library is a comic book character that I’m gonna love and I’m going to want to go back and start reading from the first issue on.”

Sorkin is one of the most talented screenwriters in Hollywood, and even if he hasn't read any comic books, I still think he could write a hell of a great script for a comic book movie. What I like about his statement is that he's totally down to jump on board.

It also sounds like he might actually have a choice in what he wants to work on with these studios as he's going to want to go through their library and find something that he'll connect with. It'll be interesting to see how this all pans out, but it'd be pretty cool to see Sorkin write a Marvel or DC movie.
