ABC Is Looking to Develop a New Marvel Series That Will Feature a “Mostly Brand New” Female Superhero

ABC is talking with Marvel about developing a new superhero series to the network which would revolve around a female hero. The news come shortly after it was announced that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. would be finishing up its run after Season 7.

According to Deadline, ABC hopes to “ensure that there is at least one Marvel property is on air on the broadcast network at any given time. However, it’s not clear whether the adaptation is being lined up for the broadcaster’s traditional development season or will be developed off-cycle.”

ABC President of Entertainment Karey Burke said in a statement:

“I have spoken to Marvel and we are in active talks about one project in particular.”

While she didn’t reveal any details, she did say that the character would be “something brand new, mostly” and that the “series would fit in with its strategy of female focused superheroes.”

Personally, I would love to see a She-Hulk series! It was also pointed out that this series will be separate from the other series that was being developed last year with Wonder Women writer Allan Heinberg. That series was also going to center on female superheroes but there were no details revealed on what the show would entail or who those characters would be.

Who are some Marvel female superheroes you’d like to see get their own series?
