ABC Locks ROSEANNE in For Another Season
With the huge success that the premiere of Roseanne saw this week, ABC hasn't wasted any time in making sure they secure it for another season. This would be the second season of the revival, but ABC is calling it Season 11.
Like many of you, I didn't expect the return of Roseanne to be such a huge hit. But they delivered the goods and the show returned with solid writing and good comedy that obviously appeals to a lot of people in America.
It has been 21 years since the initial nine-season run on ABC came to an end. Upon its return, Roseanne averaged a 5.1 rating and 18.2 million viewers over an hour with back-to-back episodes. Those numbers out-distanced the ratings for the original season series finale in 1997. ABC president Channing Dungey.
We’re thrilled that America has welcomed the Conner family back into their homes. The show is as fresh and relevant today as it was when it left the air 21 years ago. We can’t wait to see what the ‘Roseanne’ team has in store for next year."
The series brings together the original cast including Roseanne Bar, John Goodman, Sara Gilbert, Laurie Metcalf, and more.
