ABC Orders Pilot for HAPPY ACCIDENT

Abraham Higginbotham and Jon Pollack are two of the key writers for Modern Family. Alas, that show is ending with this season which means the writers are looking for new projects, and these two writers may have just found theirs. Happy Accident will be a single-camera comedy, and ABC has already ordered a pilot.

“The project revolves around two Pittsburgh families — a father with three adult daughters and a hotel lounge singer with a medical student son — who are forced together after a decades-old secret is revealed.”

I’m just going to guess that once upon a time the father and mother hooked up and one of the children is both of theirs. If Happy Accident is picked up, it will be a co-production between ABC Studios and 20th Century Fox. It is expected that a director and casting director will be announced shortly in an attempt to get ahead of the annual pilot season.
