ABC Picks Up Pilot for Sitcom VALLEY TRASH About Private School in LA

ABC has picked up a new sitcom called Valley Trash about a new girl at a prestigious private school in Los Angeles. The series is being written by Niki Schwartz-Wright, who has written for The Goldbergs and Speechless, and who will also executive-produce alongside Nahnatchka Khan, creator of Don’t Trust the B—— in Apartment 23 and Fresh Off the Boat.

Deadline provides the following synopsis:

When 14-year-old Abby gets accepted to a prestigious private L.A. high school, neither she nor her hard-working, financially strapped parents are prepared for the culture shock they’re about to experience when Abby is thrust into a world occupied by a bunch of brilliant, snobby, rich kids who want nothing to do with her, her family or their 818 area code.

This could be a fun series! The creators are solid, and now I’m interested to see who they cast in the series. Does this sound like a show you’ll want to check out?
