ABC Renews Marvel's AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. For Season 5

I remember a time when I watched the first season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and thought, "is this the best Marvel can do with a TV series?". After 3 more seasons, I can say this show is wonderful. It gives props to classic Marvel villains and heroes while still being interesting. It just needed a little time to figure out what it is. It's not a monster of the week show, it's a spy drama with elements of superheroism. I am glad to say it is coming back for Season 5.

This was recently announced on Twitter by Maurissa Tancharoen, who is the show runner and executive producer, saying, "Season Five. Go Team". As for who will survive the new season, that is yet to be seen. I've really enjoyed Season 4 as it has dealt a lot with LMD's and even has mentioned the Sokovia accords. I especially enjoyed the alternate universe. When I first heard of the "What if" episode, I assumed they would have altered all of reality, but I think that the way they created this other world is actually a really clever idea.

As for what will happen in season 5, I think that will also probably be teased in the season 4 season finale called "World's End". Of characters and stories they could be involved in introducing, I'm personally thinking they may be headed towards fighting some more old school villains and maybe even the Masters of Evil. Over the years they've been around, they've gotten a nice little group of villains lined up. It wouldn't be a surprise if these villains decided to team up and do something. But, who knows? The Inhumans plot is going to probably be focused more on the new Inhumans TV show. Often, Agents of Shield has used the Marvel Universe as inspiration, but Marvel looks to be headed to an endgame of it's own with the infinity gauntlet. Only time will tell.
