ABC has announced that they’ve renewed a slate of series for new seasons. The Goldbergs has been renewed for Season 9, The Rookie is getting a Season 4, The Connors is also coming back for Season 4, A Million Little Things is getting a Season 4, and Home Economics is coming back for Season 2.

The only shows that I watch out of this lineup is The Goldbergs and The Rookie, so they’re the only two that I really care about. The Goldbergs recently suffered a huge loss with the passing of George Segal due to complications from bypass surgery at the age of 87.

The Goldbergs is set in the 80s and centers around Adam, who “uses a video camera to document his family's crazy life. His mother, Beverly, is overprotective and lacks boundaries, while his dad has a hot temper and finds it difficult to parent without screaming. Rounding out the clan are Adam's terrifying sister, Erica, his older brother, Barry, who has middle-child syndrome; and the family's beloved grandfather, Al `Pops' Solomon. Pops is responsible for wild antics, including offering drinks to Barry and teaching Adam about the ways of love - which create more chaos in an already high-strung family.

The Rookie stars Nathan Fillion as John Nolan, who, “after a life-altering incident, is pursuing his dream of becoming an LAPD officer. As the force's oldest rookie, he's met with skepticism from some higher-ups who see him as just a walking midlife crisis. If he can't keep up with the young cops and the criminals, he'll be risking lives -- including his own -- but if he can use his life experience, determination and sense of humour to give him an edge, he may just become successful in this new chapter of his life.”

The Connors follows the Conner family who is forced to face the daily struggles of life in a way they never have before after a sudden turn of events. “This iconic family, Dan, Jackie, Darlene, Becky and D.J., demonstrates that laughter, conversation and love can overcome anything. The family grapples with issues include parenting, dating, an unexpected pregnancy, financial pressures, aging, and in-laws. Through it all, the fights, the coupon cutting, the hand-me-downs, the breakdowns -- with love, humor and perseverance, the family prevails.”

In A Million Little Things, “It has been said that friendship isn't one big thing, it's a million little things. That is certainly true for a group of friends from Boston who bonded under unexpected circumstances. Some have achieved success, others are struggling in their careers and relationships, but all of them feel stuck in life. After one of them dies unexpectedly, it's just the wake-up call the others need to finally start living. Along the way, they discover that friends may be the one thing that can save them from themselves.”

Home Economics offers a “look at the heartwarming, yet super uncomfortable and sometimes frustrating relationship between three adult siblings: one in the 1%, one middle-class and one barely holding on.”

Are you happy to see any of these shows get renewed for a new season?
