According to a New SCREAM Featurette This Film "Feels Like the First Scream"
We’ve got a new featurette for you to watch for the upcoming Scream film. The featurette is called “Return To Woodsboro,” and in it, the cast and crew offer a lot of interesting insight on the film that is sure to get fans pumped up.
Neve Campbell is back as Sidney Prescot, and in the new video she says that this “movie feels like the first Scream,” which is exciting because the first film is the best one. She also says that we see a lot of David Arquette’s Dewey in the film and that it’s “nice to see his journey.”
There’s already been an early press screening for the movie, and from what I’ve been seeing, the reactions have been overwhelmingly positive, so that’s definitely promising! I’m a huge fan of the Scream franchise, and really all of these reactions have been exciting for me. I hope it actually lives up to the hype.
The film is set twenty-five years after a streak of brutal murders shocked the quiet town of Woodsboro, now a new killer has donned the Ghostface mask and begins targeting a group of teenagers to resurrect secrets from the town’s deadly past.
This new Scream movie comes from the filmmaking team of Radio Silence (Ready or Not) with Scream creator Kevin Williamson producing. The movie also stars Courteney Cox as Gale Weathers. They are joined by newcomers Melissa Barrera (In the Heights), Jenna Ortega (The Fallout), Mason Gooding (Tragedy Girls), Jack Quaid (The Boys), and Dylan Minnette (13 Reasons Why).
The movie is scheduled to hit theaters on January 14, 2022.
