According to Arnold Schwarzenegger The New TERMINATOR Film Will Start Shooting This Summer!

It looks like producer James Cameron and director Tim Miller are on the verge of starting production on the new Terminator film! Arnold Schwarzenegger is set to return to the franchise and reprise his role and in a recent interview with TheArnoldFans, the actor reveals that the film will start shooting this summer! He says:

“We are starting to shoot Terminator 6 in June to the middle of October, so I am in that. I am looking forward to coming back as the T-800 model. It’s gonna be great with Tim Miller as the director and Jim Cameron is kind of supervising the whole thing.”

After the past two Terminator films, I normally wouldn't be excited about this, but the fact that James Cameron is involved with steering the story in the right direction, the director of Deadpool is at the helm, and Linda Hamilton is returning as Sarah Conner, it's hard not to be excited because this time the movie might actually be good!

The upcoming film is said to be the first in a trilogy and a direct sequel to Terminator 2. It will ignore all of the other films that have been made since. Cameron previously said that they are currently looking for a young 18-something-year-old woman to be the centerpiece of the new story. He went on to say:

"We still fold time. We will have characters from the future and the present. There will be mostly new characters, but we’ll have Arnold and Linda’s characters to anchor it."

The filmmaking team will also embrace the old age of Schwarzenegger for this next trilogy of films. You can read what they had to say about that here. The movie is expected to be released in the summer of 2019.

With James Cameron jumping back on board the franchise, do you think this next movie will actually have a shot at being great?
