According To Martin Lawrence BAD BOYS 3 Probably Isn't Going to Happen

Just last week we learned that Bad Boys 3 was pulled off the Sony Pictures release schedule. That could have meant that Bad Boys For Life was either put on hold or canceled. Today we have an update from Martin Lawrence on the project, and he doesn't think the movie is going to happen.

While talking to Entertainment Weekly, the actor said:

"I don’t think we’re going to get one, not the way everything’s turning out. Will is off doing another movie, and I don’t think it’s going to happen. I’m there, I’m ready right now. If they wanted to do it, I’m ready, but I don’t have control of that. That’s the studio’s decision."

That's interesting to hear because Will Smith has been attached to the project for some time. Smith even previously talked about why he decided to come back to the franchise after all these years saying it was because he was looking forward to working with Lawrence again:

"Let me tell you, I love that dude. That's among the best times I've ever had making movies. So I'm looking forward to it."

Joe Carnahan (Smokin' Aces, The A-Team) was set to direct the film, but he ultimately ended up dropping out due to creative differences. That was a shame because I was actually looking forward to seeing what he would do with it. The studio has not hired a director to replace him, and it doesn't sound like that's going to happen.

Who knows, though. Maybe Lawrence doesn't really know what the situation is with the movie and he's just in a negative state of mind.

If Bad Boys For Life did up up getting made, I'd watch it because it's a fun action-packed franchise!
