An action-packed new trailer has been released for the thriller The Survivalist, starring Jonathan Rhys Meyers and John Malkovich. They are joined by Ruby Modine, daughter of actor Matthew Modine, as well as Lori Petty and Julian Sands. The film is directed by Jon Keeyes, from a script by collaborator Matthew Rogers.

Here’s the synopsis:

A year and a half after the fall of civilization due to a viral outbreak, a former FBI agent is forced to protect a young woman immune to the disease from a dangerous gang leader hunting her for her blood.

This looks like a pretty good thriller. I always enjoy these two lead actors, and Modine looks like a promising star. Check out the trailer and poster for the film below, and watch The Survivalist in theaters, On VOD and On Demand on October 1st.
