Adam Driver Joins Cast of the Spike Lee Thriller BLACK KLANSMAN

Adam Driver has boarded producer Jordan Peele and director Spike Lee’s crime thriller involving the KKK called Black Klansman. Driver will take on a leading role in the film. Variety explains the plot:

The movie follows a detective in Colorado Springs, Colorado, who in 1978 answered an ad in the local newspaper seeking new Klan members. John David Washington was announced last month for that role. Stallworth rose through the ranks to become the head of the local chapter — even though he’s African-American. He sent a white officer in his place for any in-person meetings.

Driver will play an undercover police officer who is the best of the Colorado Springs police force. Despite his professional success, he is known on the force for being anti-social, a perfectionist, critical of others’ mistakes, but brave and dedicated.

Laura Harrier (Spider-Man: Homecoming) has also been cast. Lee will direct from a screenplay he co-wrote with Charlie Wachtel, David Rabinowitz, and Kevin Willmott.

Sounds like another solid role for Driver to take on. And of course, we will all see Driver next in the already iconic role of Kylo Ren in Lucasfilm's Star Wars: The Last Jedi, which hits theaters December 15.
