Adam McKay Writing Dark Satire About a Meteorite With DON'T LOOK UP
Adam McKay, known for writing some great films like Ant-Man, The Big Short, and Vice, is writing a new film entitled Don’t Look Up, which hasn’t been bought quite yet, but Paramount does have the first look deal with the title. Deadline reports that McKay describes the story as a “dark satire in the school of Wag the Dog, Doctor Strangelove, and Network and if it is half as good as any of them, I will be happy.” He also gave the further description:
“Two mid-level astronomers discover a meteorite will destroy earth in six months and must go on a media tour to warn mankind.”
McKay has a long history with Paramount and has a great track record in writing films, so this sounds like it could be a good film. It sounds funny and interesting, and I’ll be ready to check it out whenever it lands. Does this sound like a movie you’d want to see?
